Aftercare Advice.
General Guidance (for all treatments)
Rest and listen to your body. You may feel energised, deeply relaxed, or a little sleepy — all are normal responses.
Stay hydrated. Warm water or herbal teas are best.
Avoid alcohol, recreational drugs, and excess caffeine for 12–24 hours to allow your system to rebalance.
Eat nourishing meals. Cooked, warm foods support digestion and circulation after treatment.
Acupuncture Aftercare
Movement: Avoid strenuous exercise, swimming, or saunas on the same day. Gentle stretching or walking is encouraged.
Skin: Mild redness, sensitivity, or small bruises at needle sites can happen and usually fade quickly.
Blood Donation (UK): NHS guidelines state you must wait 4 months after acupuncture unless your practitioner is registered with the HCPC, GMC, NMC, or GDC. Please check the latest advice if you donate regularly.

Keep warm: Cover the cupped areas and avoid cold, wind, or damp for 24 hours.
Activities: Skip swimming, sauna, and heavy workouts for at least 24 hours.
Skin: If the area feels dry or itchy, apply a gentle, natural moisturiser or oil.
Hydrate: keep ensure to top up your fluid intake to encourage detoxification
Gua Sha Aftercare
Marks: Red or purple bruising known as ‘sha’ may appear on the skin and fade within 3–5 days.
Keep covered: Avoid exposure to cold air, wind, or damp for 24 hours.
Soreness: The area may feel tender, similar to after deep massage — this will ease.
Support: Rest, hydration, and warm meals will help your system integrate the treatment.
Final Notes
Every person responds differently to treatment. The most important thing is to notice how you feel and give your body what it needs.
